EVE’s proposed candidate for a replacement statue: Marjory Stoneman Douglas (1890-1998), conservationist and writer who devoted her life to preserving the Florida Everglades.

October Domestic Violence Awareness Events

During the month of October you are invited to join us at any or all of our events as we work to end Domestic Violence in our community. We have a variety of ways for you to get involved this year.

Unity Day March & Rally
Celebrate the UNITY in our CommUNITY with annual march and rally for peace. We will once again partner with the River Phoenix Center for Peacebuilding to promote awareness of and intervention for violence in our homes, schools, and neighborhoods.

ColorRun 5k Shine Tour
We are thirlled to be partnering with ColorRun again this year as their selected benefactor of their Gainesville 5K. It’s time to race, rave, and color yourself silly to support survivors in our community. Come celebrate with the Color Run 5k and enjoy the street party atmosphere this event creates downtown. Volunteers are needed and will gain free entry to all the festivities!
