The Gainesville Commission on the Status of Women’s Social Action Committee offers mini-grants twice each year to support innovative programs and projects that address the needs of women and girls in our community.
The Social Action Committee will award up to 3 proposals with a maximum of $500 per funding cycle. The funding cycle for 2009-2010 is as follows:
Fall
Applications accepted: Aug. 1-Sept. 15, 2009
Applications due: Sept. 15, 2009 (Tuesday)
Award letters sent out: Oct. 1, 2009
Project cycle: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 31, 2010
Spring
Applications accepted: Dec. 1, 2009-Jan. 15, 2010
Applications due: Jan. 15, 2010 (Friday)
Award letter sent out: Feb. 1, 2010
Project cycle: Feb. 1-July 31, 2010
Mini-grant awardees are required to submit our grant outcomes information sheet within one month of the grant implementation (see attached). Proposals for one-time events, projects, or programs are accepted. We are also interested in supporting proposals with plans to be sustainable over the long-term; therefore, we encourage returning applicants and/or applicants whose projects may need additional funding in future funding cycles.
