The Gainesville Commission on the Status of Women was established in 1980 by the Gainesville City Commission. Its mission is to serve as an advisory board and to advocate on behalf of women in the community. In 1994 the Commission reorganized as a non-profit and continues to advocate on behalf of women and girls in our community.
OUR MISSION
To seek for every woman and girl dignity and opportunities equal to her potential, respecting diversity in ability, race, color, sexual orientation, gender identity, creed, and age.
