The Gainesville Commission on the Status of Women was established in 1980 by the Gainesville City Commission. Its mission is to serve as an advisory board and to advocate on behalf of women in the community. In 1994, the Commission reorganized as a non-profit and continues to advocate on behalf of women and girls in our community.
The Commission supports numerous projects, including an annual Sexual Battery Conference.
