FCSW Awards Luncheon

On Thursday September 23rd, 2016 several of our Board members attended the Florida Commission on the Status of Women (FCSW) Florida Achievement Awards held here in Gainesville. Two of the people being honored are from Alachua County. Sherry Nungesser Houston and Susan Webster. It was a very affirming and interesting time, the keynote speaker was the University of Florida First Lady Linda Fuchs.

The Florida Achievement Awards are given by the Commission to recognize meritorious women who have improved the lives of women of Florida and/or who have served as positive role models for women and girls in their community. You can see more information on the history of the award here.

“The Florida Commission on the Status of Women recognizes and supports women of all ages as they strive to achieve their fullest potential,” said Patti Hamilton, Commission Chair. “We are proud to honor outstanding women for their tremendous achievements and dedicated service.”
